Updated: British Airways announces codeshare partnership with South African airline Airlink

Dear Travel Partner,

We sent out an email yesterday announcing our codeshare partnership with Airlink. We apologise that some recipients may have experienced an error with the link, which has now been amended. Please see below for full details.

We’re delighted to announce that British Airways has entered into a codeshare partnership with Airlink, improving connectivity between the UK, Europe, North America and more than 15 destinations in Southern Africa.

With bases in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, Airlink is a premium regional airline with a wide-reaching network of cities in 14 countries, including South Africa and Namibia. Airlink has consistently been the most on-time domestic airline over the last three years, with its fleet of more than 60 modern jetliners achieving a 95.52% average on-time performance in 2022.

This agreement means British Airways customers travelling from or transiting from cities and towns across South Africa and Namibia, via Cape Town or Johannesburg, will be able to connect to their final destination in London or beyond on a single ticket.

British Airways currently flies twice daily between Johannesburg and London Heathrow, twice daily between Cape Town and London Heathrow and three times per week between Cape Town and London Gatwick.

Codeshare tickets are now available to book, for travel from 15 February 2023 onwards.

Kind regards,

British Airways
